Megan Bonanni

Widely recognized by her peers, Megan is a member of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, named to Michigan Super Lawyers (Listed in Top 25 Women Lawyers in Michigan), Best Lawyers in America and Women in the Law by Michigan Lawyers Weekly.

Bonanni is an equity partner at Pitt, McGehee, Palmer, Bonanni & Rivers, one of the largest firms in Michigan specializing in civil and employment rights. Bonanni is a highly-skilled and passionate litigator who has dedicated her career to helping thousands of individuals to obtain justice through individual and class/collective legal actions. 


Vigilant in her representation of Survivors of sexual assault, Megan has obtained multi-million-dollar settlements and substantial jury verdicts in cases against corporate defendants alleging sexual assault, harassment, discrimination, and wage theft. Michael Pitt

Recently selected by State Bar of Michigan for its Distinguished Service and Champion of Justice awards. Pitt has also been named to Michigan Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America and is a Fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

In December 2019, Pitt and a team of civil rights lawyers obtained an $80 million dollar settlement against the State of Michigan in a lawsuit involving inmates who were raped and abused as juveniles by adult prisoners in Michigan prisons.

Pitt was part of the legal team which won a record-breaking settlement of $100 million dollars for a group of several hundred female inmates who were sexually abused by male guards in Michigan prisons over a period of years (Neal vs. Michigan Department of Corrections).

Pitt is also co-lead counsel representing over 10,000 Flint residents in state and federal class-action lawsuits related to the Flint Water Crisis

Beth Rivers

Beth has devoted her entire legal career to representing the rights of individuals in employment discrimination and civil rights cases. Her significant contributions to the field prompted her nomination and selection to Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers. In addition, Beth was elected by her peers to the The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers in 2017.

Beth has demonstrated exceptional expertise in legal research and writing in individual and multi-plaintiff cases as well as nationwide class actions. She has successfully briefed and argued many ground-breaking cases in a variety of venues, including the Michigan Court of Appeals, Michigan Supreme Court and federal appellate courts across the nation. Significantly, she was responsible for first two landmark decisions interpreting the Older Worker’s Benefit Protection Act in the Sixth Circuit. In addition, she wrote the brief to New Jersey Supreme Court in the case in which the court held that employers must abide by the policies and procedures contained in their handbooks and manuals.
