Channing Robinson Holmes

Channing Robinson-Holmes

Attorney

Since joining the firm in 2015, Channing Robinson-Holmes has successfully litigated and tried numerous employment cases, as well as civil rights actions against the state, argued before the state court of appeals, and briefed issues resulting in impactful, positive court decisions in Michigan and the Sixth Circuit.

Channing represents the firm in the claims process of the Flint Class Action Partial Settlement of $624 million and is part of the leadership team pursuing additional claims on behalf of the class. She, along with Cary McGehee, further represents two putative classes of women incarcerated in the state’s Huron Valley Correctional Facility who were harmed by the facility’s scabies outbreak and negatively affected by the facility’s unhealthy mold conditions. In a recent victory, Channing, alongside Cary McGehee, succeeded in overturning the juvenile life-without-parole sentence of Barbara Hernandez, who was sentenced at 16 and served more than 30 years in prison. With the sentence overturned, she is now eligible for parole.

Channing sits on the Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s (ICLE) Labor and Employment Law Advisory Board and is an ICLE contributor. She is a member of the Michigan Association for Justice’s (MAJ) Amicus Brief Committee and the Michigan State Bar’s Bar Journal Committee. Channing was a finalist for the 2022 Public Justice Trial Lawyer of the Year Award and recipient of the MAJ’s 2024 Champion of Justice Award, as a member of the Association’s Amicus Committee.

Channing and her husband, Buddy, are the devoted parents of five-year-old Charlotte and two-year-old Everett.
