The following is a statement from the law firm of Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers, Michigan’s preeminent civil rights and discrimination firm on the Trump Verdict and rhetoric attacking the jury and judicial systems:  

“As our nation grapples with yesterday’s historic verdict, our law firm wants to emphasize the immense value of our jury system. It ensures that individuals are held accountable by their peers, reinforcing the principle that no one is above the law. Attacks against the jury and judicial systems are vehicles to erode public trust and foster further animosity in our already divided nation, causing irreparable harm to our democracy. Our elected officials must always support the jury system regardless of whether they agree or disagree with a verdict. We cannot and should not support elected officials who condemn jury verdicts as corrupt solely because a defendant they favor has been found guilty.”
