Co-Founding Partner Cary McGehee Named One of Lawdragon’s 100 Managing Partners You Need to Know
Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers is proud to congratulate co-founding partner Cary McGehee on being named to the prestigious 2025 Lawdragon 100 Managing Partners You Need to Know list.
Cary’s career has been defined by her unwavering dedication to securing justice for victims of employment discrimination, civil rights violations, and institutional misconduct. As a tireless advocate, Cary has been at the forefront of some of the most impactful class actions and civil rights lawsuits in Michigan and across the nation.
Notable among her accomplishments is her pivotal role in the $624 million Flint Water Crisis settlement, which held state and government entities accountable for the devastation caused by the contamination of the city’s water supply. Additionally, Cary secured a $100 million and $80 million settlement on behalf of incarcerated women and youth who were sexually assaulted while in Michigan Department of Corrections custody.
She continues to represent individuals in groundbreaking cases, including challenging the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s negligence in the Flint Water Crisis, representing a former employee against DTE Energy for sexual harassment, facing the Michigan Department of Corrections for inmate health violations, and fighting against Wayne County Juvenile Detention Center for allegations of sexual abuse.
This recognition from Lawdragon highlights Cary’s ongoing legacy as a national leader in the legal field, and we couldn’t be more proud of her achievements.
