Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers Represent Former Goldfish Swim Employees in Lawsuit Against the Swim School and Detroit-Area Predator Dr. Oumair Aejaz

Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers has filed a lawsuit on behalf of two former employees of Goldfish Swim in Rochester, alleging the swim school failed to protect them from Dr. Oumair Aejaz, the Detroit-area physician who secretly recorded numerous women and children without their consent.

As employees of the swim school, Jane Doe 1 and Jane Doe 2 were required to undress in shared areas. According to the lawsuit, no individuals were assigned to monitor the shared changing areas, leaving them vulnerable to the predatory behavior of Dr. Aejaz. In fact, the school boasted about the easy access to its changing rooms to prospective customers.

"Goldfish Swim shares the blame with Dr. Aejaz for betraying our trust and violating our privacy,” the Jane Does said in a statement. “As former employees, we were required to undress in shared spaces, creating an environment ripe for predatory behavior. It’s crucial for Goldfish Swim to recognize its role in this situation and to take meaningful steps to ensure the safety and dignity of everyone involved. We need to see real change to prevent this from happening again."

"It's a nightmarish scenario for anyone, to be placed in a situation like this without any warning, it's shocking and very unsettling," Kevin Carlson told The Detroit News. "Our clients would like some peace of mind and security that shining a light on what happened here will force Goldfish to take some corrective action."

PMPBR attorneys Kevin Carlson and Megan Bonanni, in addition to Lisa Esser-Weidenfeller of Sommers Schwartz, jointly represent the two former Goldfish Swim employees. Our firms stand with current and former Goldfish Swim employees who were recorded without their knowledge, and all other survivors of Dr. Aejaz’s predatory, violating behaviors.
