The Best Lawyers in America recognizes six Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers partners in its 31st edition 

Pitt McGehee Palmer Bonanni & Rivers partners Megan Bonanni, Jennifer Lord, Cary McGehee, Robert Palmer, Michael Pitt, and Beth Rivers have been selected for the 31st edition of The Best Lawyers in America for their expertise in multiple categories. 

Megan Bonanni was recognized for Employment Law – Individuals and Litigation – Labor and Employment. Over the years Megan has represented many employees who have been affected by corporate greed and negligence. In 2021, Megan successfully brought a wrongful termination case that resulted in a settlement against Ford Motor Company, which targeted older employees in mass layoffs. Recently, Megan has been investigating John Deere layoffs of a similar nature and is hoping to help former employees receive their rightful compensation. 

Jennifer Lord was recognized for Employment Law – Individuals and Litigation – Labor and Employment. Jennifer has longstanding experience in fighting for individuals harmed by those in power. She has played a key role in a class action case involving AI in unemployment fraud decisions, presented on AI overreliance at international seminars, and recently advised President Biden’s assistant, Gene Sperling, on responsible AI use for the government. 

Cary McGehee was recognized for Employment Law – Individuals. Cary specializes in cases of employment discrimination and civil rights violations. Cary has previously been recognized for her efforts in employment law in Best Lawyers in America, Martindale-Hubbell's peer review and Michigan Super Lawyers. She has also been elected as a Fellow of the National College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. She is currently representing a former DTE Energy employee who faced repeated sexual harassment by a customer. 

Robert Palmer was recognized for Criminal Defense: General Practice and Employment Law – Individuals. Bob has a distinguished history of representing individuals and groups in civil rights employment claims. He has litigated numerous race, age, gender, national origin, and sexual harassment cases through trial and appeal. He is proud to be a member of the National College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, having been elected to this national organization in 2010. 

Michael Pitt, who has now been featured in all 31 editions of Best Lawyers, was recognized for Employment Law – Individuals. He has represented numerous individuals in disputes involving employment rights, sexual abuse, governmental abuse, and prisoner rights. Michael recently celebrated 50 years with the State Bar of Michigan. He is currently representing an employee wrongfully terminated by Grosse Pointe Schools due to her political beliefs. 

Beth Rivers was recognized for Employment Law – Individuals and Litigation – Labor and Employment. One of Beth's significant contributions to employment law was the landmark case of Robinson v. Ford Motor Company, which set a precedent in Michigan for same-sex sexual harassment cases. Her niche as a trial attorney who excels in writing, research and advocacy has led to many victories for the firm both at the trial and appellate level.
