Jennifer Lord joined the firm as a partner in 2015. She has committed her life to vindicating the rights of people who have been harmed by those in power, whether in the context of their employment, housing, or rights to public benefits. Beyond protecting the rights of others, Jennifer has learned the value of listening and making others feel heard. On the occasions where there is not a legal remedy to a problem, there can be great solace in being heard.
One of the pleasures of the law is the lifelong opportunity to learn. Jennifer has worked on one of the firm’s class actions that involves the use of artificial intelligence to make decisions about whether citizens committed fraud in connection with their application/receipt of unemployment benefits. This is an important and cutting-edge area of civil rights that requires attention and oversight. Jennifer has presented on the topic of overreliance on artificial intelligence in seminars in Berlin, New York, and Washington, D.C. She recently served as an informal advisor to Gene Sperling, Special Assistant to President Biden on precautions that the Government should take to ensure that the use of AI is responsible and safe.
Jennifer was listed in the 31st edition of The Best Lawyers in America in the categories of Employment Law–Individuals and Litigation – Labor and Employment, showcasing her prowess within this area of law.
